The count people usually want is six — five you can choose from the rooftop, plus one hidden. Add the expansion and the answer changes again, because Phantom Liberty introduces a separate route with its own conclusion.
Short answer
Six in the base game: four assault routes, one where V hands the body over, and one secret ending. Each has epilogue variations depending on romance and earlier choices. Phantom Liberty adds a further path on top.
The count, broken down
| Route | How it is reached |
|---|---|
| Arasaka | Accept Hanako's offer |
| Rogue | Call Rogue for the assault |
| Panam | Call the Aldecaldos — requires her questline finished |
| Johnny takes over | Let him have the body |
| Walk away | Refuse the whole thing on the roof |
| Secret | Wait through the rooftop conversation with a high enough bond with Johnny |

Why different sources say different numbers
Three counting methods are in circulation. Counting decision points gives five. Counting distinct endings including the secret gives six. Counting epilogue variations — which change based on romance, who survived, and choices across the whole game — gives well over a dozen.
None is wrong. "Six" is the number that matches what most players mean: six meaningfully different ways the story concludes.

The two you can lock yourself out of
Panam's route requires her entire questline to be complete before the final mission. The secret ending requires a relationship with Johnny built across the whole playthrough, and it cannot be assembled at the end. Everything else is available to anyone who reaches the rooftop.
This is why the standard advice is to finish companion content before triggering the finale — the game warns you about the point of no return, but not about which options you have already lost.

Seeing them all in one playthrough
Save immediately before the rooftop conversation. From that one save you can play through every route except the secret ending, each taking between twenty minutes and an hour. Reload, pick the next option, repeat.
The secret ending is the exception: if the Johnny relationship is not there, no amount of reloading will produce it.
Phantom Liberty changes the maths
The expansion adds a route that does not go through the rooftop at all, along with its own internal choice that alters how it resolves. Depending on what you do there, the base game's endings may not even be the ones you see.
If you own the expansion, play it before the finale rather than after — its conclusion is designed to feed into the ending sequence rather than to follow it.
Cyberpunk 2077 FAQ
How many endings are there?
Six in the base game, including one secret ending, plus additional variations and the expansion's separate route.
Is there a good ending?
No unambiguous one. The closest are Panam's route and one branch of the expansion, and both cost something.
Can I get all endings without replaying?
All but the secret one, from a single save made before the rooftop.
Which ending is canon?
None has been declared canon.
Six is the number. The save before the roof is how you see them.
